Assign External Access Policy to all Lync Users



Sometime when you setup federation between domain and it work smooth, all users are not under the external access policy. If you want to apply policy to all users who using Lync client, below is the details process:


First of all open the Lync Management shell for assigning the external access policy to 
users:
Use below cmdlet for assigning policy to Lync single user
PS C:\> Grant-CsExternalAccessPolicy -Identity "dineshsingh" -PolicyName “definedpolicyname” 

For all Lync users
PS C:\> Get-CsUser -Filter {ExternalAccessPolicy -eq $Null} | Grant-CsExternalAccessPolicy -PolicyName "definedpolicyname"

Assign the policy to all Lync user who works in local, "L" represent location:
PS C:\> Get-CsUser -LdapFilter "L=Bangalore" | Grant-CsExternalAccessPolicy -PolicyName “definedpolicyname 

Assign the policy to all Lync user who has job title ‘HR’: 
PS C:\> Get-CsUser -LdapFilter "Title=HR" | Grant-CsExternalAccessPolicy -PolicyName “definedpolicyname 

Assign the policy to all user who has Lync access and :
PS C:\> Get-CsUser -OU "ou=US,dc=lmydomain,dc=com" | Grant-CsExternalAccessPolicy -PolicyName “definedpolicyname 

Absolutely it will take some time to apply the policy after you can verify whether policy applied successfully or not.
