Migration Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013- Part 6

Configure Database Availability Group (DAG) - Exchange 2013


  1. Open “Internet Explorer”
  2. Brows to “https://MX15.tech.com/ecp?ExchClientVer=15 (where MX15 is CAS/Mailbox server of 2013)
  3. Log on with Exchange administrative account
  4. Click in “Server”
  5. Click on “Database Availability Group”
  6. Click on “new database availability group” and enter the name, witness server directory and click “save”
  7. Click on “add or remove mailbox server to or from this DAG”
  8. Click on the “Plus” sign and select the server you wish to add to the DAG.
  9. Click on “Ok”
  10. Click on “Save”
 Note: The witness server must have the Exchange trusted subsystem in the local administrator group

Repeat for all DAG members if you have more.
Now you can see the all servers are members of DAG

Add a mailbox database copy
  1. In Exchange 2013 ECP click on “Servers” and click on “databases”
  2. Click  to select database you want to add for and click “more”
  3. Click on “Add database copy”
  4. Click on “Browse” and click on the server you would like to add and click “Ok”
  5. Click on “Save” and wait for seeding to complete.
  6. Click on “Close” and repeat for all database, once you complete you can see all database under DAG
