Migration Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013- Part 7

Creating a new OAB in Exchange 2013 

Open Exchange Management Shell and enter following command
New-OfflineAddressBook –Name “OAB New” –AdressLists “\Default Global Address List”



Assigning an OAB in Exchange 2013

  1. Open Exchange 2013 ECP with Administrator account.
  2. Click on “Servers” and select “Databases” select database you want to assign the OAB 
  3. Click on “Edit” and Click on “Client Setting”
  4. Click on “Browse”
  5. Select the Exchange 2013 OAB to assign to the mailbox database
  6. Click on “Save”


Configure Outlook to use Outlook Anywhere 
  1. Open outlook and click on “file”.
  2. Click on “Account Settings”
  3. Click on “Change”
  4. Click on “More Settings”
  5. Click on “Security”
  6. Click on “connection”
  7. Click on “Exchange Proxy Connection”
  8. Click on “On Fast network, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP” in “Microsoft Proxy Settings”
  9. Click on “Ok” in Microsoft Exchange Proxy Settings”
  10. Click on “Ok” in “Microsoft Exchange”
  11. Click on “Ok” and select next in  “Change Account”
  12. Click on “finish” in “Change Account”
  13. Close in “Account Settings”
  14. Restart outlook and right click on “Microsoft outlook” while holding down CTRL
  15. Click on “Connection Status.
  16. Verify the connection is made via HTTP

Use a custom ADM file to push this setting to all clients via group policies “KB 961112”
